Sportsmans Alliance of Maine Director David Trahan on Democracy in Maine

Longtime Augusta politco David Trahan tackles conservation policy and gun control in an era where big out-of-state money dominates small town politics.

Former State Representative and State Senator from Lincoln County, David Trahan, now Executive Director of the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, joins The Robinson Report to discuss the clash between true conservation and modern environmentalism’s backing of crony capitalism in wind and solar energy. Trahan also addresses the Democratic Majority’s attempts to block a public hearing on the proposed “Red Flag” gun control referendum. Elected in 1998, Trahan argues democracy has been declining in Augusta, particularly over the past six years. (Note: This episode was recorded just before legislative leaders overruled the Judiciary Committee Chairs to schedule a legally required public hearing for Wednesday, June 11, at 3:00 PM.)
